About WindCradle Retreat
Mary Ellen Ashcroft – English professor, Episcopal priest, author of a number of books, retreat leader, and Boundary Waters guide: Mary Ellen envisions a world in which people claim their lives from distracted superficiality. In 2008, she started WindCradle Retreat so that she could give herself fully to inspiring and connecting people with their inner selves and God. She uses her brilliant and quirky creativity to empower people to live authentic, attentive lives.
Suzanne Sherman – Suzanne has worked in the area of leadership and reconciliation for years. She has worked with at risk youth and Peace Prize recipients to help bring awareness of diversity and restorative justice to the community. Among the many things Suzanne enjoys are hiking, canoeing, gardening, being with her grandchildren, and reading.
Dorothy Trippel – WindCradle Intern Dorothy Trippel works remotely from Tempe, Arizona year-round and co-leads canoe retreats with Mary Ellen during the summer. Dorothy has a background in Anthropology, Sociology and Religious Studies and is interested in meaning-making, place, food, narrative and community. Dorothy feels blessed to be a part of the delightful, vibrant and nurturing world that Mary Ellen and Suzanne have created at WindCradle.
